On Monday 06/13/1982 campers in the area of I-75, 37-38 MM, discovered a body (torso) in the canal and called the Sheriff's Office. An extensive ground and air search was conducted for several miles in all directions from the scene where the victim was located, with negative results. The medical examiner determined the body had been in the water between two days to two weeks.
Anthropological analysis notes, spina bifida occulta in the sacrum. Autopsy findings include pulmonary emphysema.
