On 03/04/07, at approximately 0215 hours, Deputies from Immokalee responded to the above location. A mobile home trailer was engulfed in flames. Ten people were sleeping inside the trailer at the time the fire started. Three victims were transported to Lee Memorial, three were transported to NCH, and four were located deceased in the trailer. Emiliano Lopez Figaroa, 27, died in a hospital from injuries he received in the fire.

Detectives responded and processed the scene along with State Fire Marshal’s. Dr. Borges from the District Twenty Medical Examiners Office was notified and responded to the scene. There was a prior arson attempt on this residence approximately one week ago with no known suspects. There are no known witnesses to how the fire started. Due to the suspicious nature of the fire, and the past arson attempts on the residence, Fire Marshal’s are investigating the fire as arson.

Anyone with information on the arson case in Immokalee is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (239) 793-9300 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 780-TIPS. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
